Résumé
Nos amis participent au grand bal donné à Vallis. Cette atmosphère de détente n'est pas au goût de tout le monde. Seul Deedlit semble s'amuser, tandis que Parn est subjugué par l'arrivée au château du grand Prince Kashue. Karla, la sorcière grise, ensorcelle un prisonnier et l'envoie assassiner le prince. La tentative échoue. Alors que Kashue et Parn deviennent bons amis, Karla réapparait auprès d'eux...
